Ernakulam (Kochi) Local Body Election Result 2025: The Kerala local body elections of 2025 were conducted in two phases on December 9 and 11, with the counting of votes taking place on December 13, starting at 8:00 AM.
Local body elections in Kerala are held every five years to elect representatives to grama panchayats, block panchayats, district panchayats, municipalities, and municipal corporations. In 2025, the elections were held in 1,199 out of the state’s 1,200 local bodies, covering nearly the entire state.
These elections are crucial as they determine the governance of local bodies, influencing development projects, civic amenities, and grassroots political representation. Early results indicated significant victories for certain coalitions, reflecting changing political dynamics in urban and rural areas, including Ernakulam.

Phase 1 saw a turnout of 70.9 per cent in the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam, while Phase 2 recorded an even higher polling percentage of 75 per cent across Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
